By Golly, Be Jolly Holiday Open House Kicks Off Two Days of Big Shopping & Big Prizes
(Ocean Springs, MS) – Ocean Springs businesses and community partners are gearing up for a festive and bustling holiday season filled with holiday specials, downtown glow, family fun, and even “snow” this December.
The celebrations begin Friday, November 28, as businesses throughout Ocean Springs roll out holiday festivities and local shopping specials for Black Friday, followed by Small Business Saturday on November 29. Shoppers are encouraged to support local retailers and kick off the season with unique finds and hometown cheer.
On Thursday, December 4, the City of Ocean Springs will host its annual Tree Lighting with Santa at the Mary C from 6–8 p.m. Enjoy two hours of holiday magic with live music, singalongs, photos with Santa (bring your camera!), and free refreshments provided by the Ocean Springs Chamber-Main Street-Tourism Bureau, Coca-Cola, and community partners.
Holiday Open House – December 5 & 6
On Friday, December 5, and Saturday, December 6, beginning at 10 a.m., the community is invited to enjoy the biggest shopping event of the year — the By Golly, Be Jolly Holiday Open House. Businesses downtown, uptown, and all around town will offer festive specials on clothing, jewelry, holiday décor, dining, art, and more.
Start your holiday adventure by visiting the Ocean Springs Visitors Center at 1000 Washington Avenue for a tasty treat and listing of all participating businesses. Spend $200 during the two-day event and bring your receipts to the Visitors Center for a chance to win prizes valued at over $500, including shopping gift certificates, overnight stays, and more.
Make It Snow! – December 6
During the Holiday Open House on Saturday, December 6, the Chamber-Main Street will MAKE IT SNOW in the L&N Depot Plaza from 2–6 p.m. in partnership with Gulf Coast Foam Party. Bring the whole family to enjoy refreshments, adopt a plush reindeer, grab holiday treats, and play in the snow! (Weather permitting.)
Silent Light Festival – December 6
That evening, downtown will glow for the Silent Light Festival at the Walter Anderson Museum of Art from 6:00–10 p.m. Immerse yourself in this enchanting, illuminated world inspired by Walter Anderson. This event is free and open to the public.
Discover Christmas Toy Drive & Parade – December 7
Holiday festivities continue on Sunday, December 7, with the Discover Christmas Toy Drive and Parade, at 2 p.m. in downtown Ocean Springs. Toy donations are greatly appreciated. The parade will conclude at the Lumber Company lot.
