Ocean Springs Pink Friday Event Encourages shop local
(Ocean Springs, MS) – Join the Ocean Springs Chamber-Main Street-Tourism
Bureau and its businesses on Friday, November 22 as they participate in “Pink
Friday” for holiday deals.
To encourage local shopping at local businesses, merchants of Ocean Springs have
created a NEW shop small pre–Black Friday event called “Pink Friday”, which is a
movement by small businesses around the nation to spotlight small businesses
this holiday season.
“Christmas shopping season is a crucial financial time for our local businesses
downtown, uptown, all-around town,” says Cynthia Sutton, President & CEO of
the Ocean Springs Chamber-Main Street. “When you shop small businesses, you
support local friends and neighbors, and when you shop local, you are keeping
much of your dollars local. Studies have shown that when you spend $100 nearly
$68 stay local.”
Slow down before the holiday rush and take time to visit Ocean Springs shops,
restaurants and galleries beginning on Friday, November 22 who are participating
in this new holiday event. From 25% to 40% off select items to progressive sales
racks, refreshments and more pink Friday deals, Ocean Springs is ready to help
you find the perfect gifts this holiday season.
Nearly 30 local businesses are participating in this new holiday event on Friday,
November 22. All businesses downtown, uptown, and all-around town are
encouraged to offer Pink Friday specials and keep the shop local spirit all season
long by also offering specials during Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and
Holiday Open House.
