(Ocean Springs, MS) – The Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce-Main Street-Tourism
Bureau, in partnership with the Mississippi Power Foundation, is pleased to announce
a Façade Grant Improvement Program supporting the growth and revitalization of
existing commercial properties in downtown Ocean Springs from Holcomb Blvd to
Front Beach and the downtown district area. The grant program is designed to help
business owners restore, improve, or create architectural features to facades of
commercial buildings in the approved area.

“Small businesses are our bread and butter, and we want to see them thrive,” says
Cynthia Sutton, executive director of the Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce-Main
Street-Tourism Bureau. “This is a way to help lift our small businesses up and give
them a hand with building projects. It is also a great form of beautification that can
help attract more tourism.”

With a total of $20,000 in funding, the Ocean Springs Main Street Design Committee
will award funds according to application guidelines. Eligible activities include
cleaning, painting, brickwork repair, lighting awnings and canopies, signage, murals,
doors, windows, ironwork, and original architectural features. Applicants must be
located within the Ocean Springs Main Street Historic District, be a current member of
the Ocean Springs Chamber-Main Street, and the property must be up to date on all
city and county taxes and building codes.

“Mississippi Power and the Mississippi Power Foundation are excited to partner with
the Ocean Springs Chamber-Main Street and offer this Façade Grant Improvement
Program,” said Mississippi Power Jackson County Area Manager Matt Fall. “We’ve
seen across our service territory the impact that programs like this can have on a
city’s downtown area. We support local entrepreneurs, and these grants will help
beautify downtown Ocean Springs and attract more visitors to the area.”

The application process opens to the public Thursday, April 6 closing April 30.
Interested businesses can review the grant program guidelines at
oceanspringschamber.com or by emailing mail@oceanspringschamber.com.
Applications must be received no later than 5 p.m. on April 28 to be considered for
