Starkville artist named 2019 Blue Moon Art Project Winner
Mississippi artist, Catherine Anne Davis is this year’s winner of the Blue Moon Art Project associated with the 41st Peter Anderson Arts & Crafts Festival.
The state-wide art project brought to Mississippi through the Peter Anderson Arts & Crafts Festival began with the accepting of applications in August of this year with the Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce-Main Street-Tourism Bureau. The winner was announced during the Peter Anderson Arts & Crafts Festival presented by Blue Moon, held on November 2 and 3 in downtown Ocean Springs.
The 2019 winning piece, “Mississippi Y’all by Catherine Ann Davis, will be on display in the Ocean Springs Visitor Center until it appears on signage, souvenir cups and more next fall. The promotions will be in celebration and in preparation of the 42nd Annual Peter Anderson Arts & Crafts Festival.
The announcement of the winning art project was made on Sunday afternoon of the festival, along with the announcement of the People’s Choice Award. The attendees voted and recognized Tomm Moran of Ocean Springs with his piece “The River” as this year’s People’s Choice Award winner.
Now in its 10th year, the Blue Moon Brewing Company via FEB Distributing Company has been partnering with the festival to inspire the Mississippi community in the arts. From their original slogan “Artfully Crafted”, Blue Moon has had a passion for the arts and has used their product to create successful artfully inspired projects throughout the United States continuing in Mississippi still today.
