There’s a food culture in Ocean Springs- a vibe that’s picked up all over town in the more than 100 restaurants and bars, numerous food-centered festivals and special events- making this a dining mecca for foodies. Ocean Springs is the culinary crown jewel of the Mississippi Gulf Coast with a variety of cuisines to delight any palate, including brick oven pizza, French pastries, fresh seafood, traditional Southern, Mediterranean, Vietnamese, Japanese, Cajun, Creole and barbecue. Taste of Ocean Springs Food & Wine Festival is held the second Thursday in May. It’s an exciting event with white lights, white linens and an array of food and beverages served by a selection of our restaurants and nightlife venues. This festival, as well as other festivals and local restaurants, features live entertainment that adds pleasure to our dining mecca. Restaurant Week is a seven-day event that follows Taste of Ocean Springs. During Restaurant Week, participating restaurants offer lunch or dinner prix fixed menu items for convenient dining options for individuals and families to experience more of what Ocean Springs restaurants have to offer. Free Food Fridays are held each Friday in May when gift certificates are given away for free food on the Chamber’s Facebook page to those who “like” and “share” the contest details as they are posted each week. Red, White & Blueberry Festival is a fun family event where local growers from the Ocean Springs Fresh Market offer a variety of blueberry options and local produce along with cooking demonstrations from local restaurants. Free ice cream is served topped with blueberries and strawberries. Lunch & Learn at the Mary C. O’ Keefe Cultural Center is a cooking demonstration and lunch in a relaxed setting. These classes are held weekdays come rain or shine and no matter how many diners attend. These and other festivals accompanied with live music at local establishments create a dining mecca for foodies. Ocean Springs has exciting nightlife options and is home to some of the best entertainment selections on the Coast. With more than 100 restaurants and nightlife venues, there is always plenty of live music and fun in town. Music can be found on most nights of the week at many of our restaurants and bars located downtown, uptown, all around town. Other activities including pop-up art shows and karaoke are also common events at various nightlife venues. Come spend the evening with us and stroll the establishments in downtown Ocean Springs, or venture out to others located on Bienville Boulevard and to The Shed Barbeque & Blues Joint located off Highway 57.
