Ocean Springs Main Street Wins State Award for Holiday Event
OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. – Ocean Springs Main Street is excited to announce that
we’ve been awarded Outstanding Holiday – Large Event at the 2025 Mississippi
Main Street Awards for our Ocean Springs Snow Day celebration, held this past
December in downtown Ocean Springs.
The award was presented yesterday at the Mississippi Main Street Association’s
Annual Awards Luncheon in Jackson, where communities from across the state
were recognized for their outstanding downtown revitalization work and events that
grow a community.
“We are honored to be recognized on a statewide level for an event that is quickly
becoming a downtown tradition,” said Cynthia Sutton, President & CEO of Ocean
Springs Main Street. “Ocean Springs Snow Day brings families and visitors
together, supports our local businesses, and transforms downtown into a festive
and joyful experience.”
Ocean Springs Snow Day held each December, invites the community to enjoy a
playful day of “snow” with a variety of holiday-themed activities, including snow
play areas, holiday movies on the big screen, “adopt-a-reindeer,” and more family
fun. The event draws residents and visitors downtown to celebrate the season
while shopping and dining locally.
This recognition comes as part of a milestone year for Mississippi Main Street
communities. In 2024 alone, local Main Street programs across the state helped
launch 365 new businesses, created 878 jobs, and recorded more than $656
million in combined public and private investment.
“We’re proud to be part of a statewide network that uplifts local communities,”
said Sutton. “This award is a reflection of the creativity and dedication of our team,
our partners, and our incredible community that comes out to support events like
Snow Day.”
Ocean Springs Main Street remains focused on preserving the character and
energy of downtown and throughout town while continuing to grow events and
