Ocean Springs Main Street Awards Businesses with Facade Grants
(Ocean Springs, MS) – The Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce-Main Street-Tourism
Bureau, in partnership with the Mississippi Power Foundation and the United Way of
Jackson and George Counties, recently awarded façade grant improvement funds to
downtown businesses.
The program funded by Mississippi Power totaling $30,000 provides funds to improve
the exterior of buildings to help enhance the overall streetscape and attract new
customers and tourists.
Ocean Springs Main Street’s Design Committee reviewed each application and
evaluated each based on the eligible guidelines. Ten businesses residing in the Main
Street district and Mississippi Power service area received an award letter of the grant
funds.
Main Street officials announced the following businesses as recipients:
- Golden Our, for signage and plants
- Hillyer House, for front door replacement
- The Jackso n Pearl, for marquee sign and limestone driveway upgrade
- The Juke Joint, for paint and front porch
- Maison de Lu, for awnings, plants and porch updates
- Ocean Springs Mercantile, for paint
- Ocean Springs Yacht Club, for awning and signage
- The Office Bar & Lounge, for plants
- Unique Collision, for sign installation
- La Sauce Style, for railings and painting
All projects are required to be completed within three months/before the end of the
year. Each business is required to comply with all city rules and regulations through
the Building Department. Any mural projects are subject to review by a design
committee.
