Ocean Springs Chamber-Main Accepting Gifts for Mississippi State Hospital Holiday Drive
(Ocean Springs, MS) – The Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce–Main Street–Tourism Bureau is spreading holiday cheer and inviting the community to participate in the Whitfield State Hospital Christmas Gift Drive.
Now through Thursday, December 11 at noon, individuals, groups, and businesses are encouraged to donate gifts for the men and women at the State Hospitals of Mississippi. Donations can be dropped off at the Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce/Visitors Center, 1000 Washington Avenue. Volunteers will collect the items on December 11 and deliver them to the hospital in Jackson, ensuring every gift reaches its recipient in time for the holidays.
Items most needed include:
· Pocket games, puzzles, and cards
· Books, music CDs, and DVDs from the 50s and 60s
· Purses, Afghan blankets, Snuggies, closed-toe house shoes, and light jackets
· Wood crafts, jewelry kits, cosmetics, and house coats
· Portable radios, stationary items, game books, arts and crafts kits
· Batteries, sunglasses, socks, slippers, caps, pajamas, underwear, belts, and hats
Please note: No glass items or hygiene products.
