What is a Chamber ribbon cutting?
A ribbon cutting is a ceremonial event announcing the opening of your business, expansion or relocation. It can be held on the first day of business or weeks or months following. An actual ribbon is cut surrounded by business colleagues and community leaders and members. The ribbon cutting marks a significant moment in your business history and also serves as a photo opportunity. The Chamber will take a photograph and invite local newspapers to take a photograph as well.
You must be a new or current Chamber member in good standing (dues are current) for the Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce – Main Street – Tourism Bureau to assist you in conducting a ribbon cutting.
What are the benefits of holding a Chamber ribbon cutting?
It introduces your business to the public and Chamber members.
It is a way to familiarize others with your product.
It is a way to begin networking and creating a customer base.
Photograph will appear in the Chamber newsletter reaching 500+ individuals along the Coast as well as the local newspapers, as space allows.
What does the Chamber charge for a ribbon cutting?
The Chamber provides services free of charge to Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce – Main Street – Tourism Bureau Chamber members. There is a small fee for a Chamber mailing list if you choose to use.
What does the Chamber do for my business ribbon cutting?
Provide you with the bow and ribbon
Bring large ribbon cutting scissors for the official cutting of the ribbon
Invite Mayor and Aldermen of Ocean Springs
Invite Chamber Board of Directors, Ambassadors and members
Extend invite to local newspapers (host is encouraged to extend personal invites to Mayor, Aldermen, Newspaper, etc.)
Notify Chamber members of upcoming ribbon cutting (time permitting)
