Accepting gifts for Mississippi State Hospital
Ocean Springs) – The Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce-Main StreetTourism Bureau is now accepting gifts for Whitfield State Hospital Christmas
gift drive.
Now through December 7 at noon, we are accepting donated items for the men and women of the State Hospitals of Mississippi.
Individuals, groups, and businesses are encouraged to bring the donated items to the Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce/Visitors Center located at 1000 Washington Avenue. A group of volunteers will pick up the items after Dec. 7 at noon and transport them to the hospital in Jackson.
Items needed include pocket games, puzzles, cards, books, purses, music CDs, DVDs from the 50s and 60s, Afghan blankets, Snuggies, closed toe house shoes, wood crafts, cosmetics, jewelry kits, house coats and light jackets, portable radios, stationary items, game books, arts and crafts kits, batteries, sunglasses, socks, slippers, caps, pjs, underwear, belts, footies and hats. No glass items and no hygiene items.
